Synopsis:

During the Buddhist fireball-rocket festival at Kok E-Gerng, Bakpol returns to his hometown and learns that Mam, with whom he is secretly in love, is forced by her father Bakjohnny, a drunkard-boxer of S. Kok E-Gerng Boxing Camp, to marry a half-Farang-half-Isan boy. Bakpol elopes with Mam to Bangkok, leaving Bakjohnny dead-drunk with agony.
The spirit of the deceased Bakjohnny, the first ever Isan-speaking ghost, outrages the habitants of Kok E-Gerng in a spooky yet comical manner. Bakpol and Mam later return to the village to beg parental pardon, but Bakjohnny ghost never relents his ferocity. Bakpol has no choice but to accept the challenge to make a bet in a boxing match, with Mam, Kok E-Gerng Boxing camp and the village dignity as priceless stakes.
