Synopsis:
An eldest son of a small family can only watch his family go into ruin after they are affected pretty badly from economic depression. His mother attempts suicide. She is alive, now disabled, and full of emotional wound. It was the decision that greatly pains the rest of the family.
Mother is described as ‘hybrid-documentary” by its director Vorakorn Ruetaivanichkul, with real life scenes intertwined with some re-enacted ones and some deliberately designed to convey specific meanings and emotions. Telling the story of his mother and his family, the film is highly personal, but a young actor is brought in to play the role of the eldest son or the director himself.
